Nicki Bear Collects Recipes ... and fresh fruit

Nicki Bear arrived with a large recipe book for collecting recipes. Her interest in the garden and orchard is gaining her a lot of pie baking activity.

Last week she found some ripe strawberries and a large rhubarb patch. This week she has started on the cherries.

Lucky-Ducky swims through Iowa with Frogger

Lucky-Ducky and Frogger took a road trip to Iowa and although they enjoyed the beauty of the rocky mountains they got really excited about all the puddles in Iowa.

Their travel journals contains information on Eisenhower Tunnel in Colorado and the Platte River Archway in Nebraska.

They saw several other neat places too -- check it out.

Many Visitors

Currently at our house we have several visitors from around the world. The guests include Jimbo Elephant from Australia, Frogger from Las Vegas Nevada, Lucky-Ducky (not a guest but home from Finland after an 8 month visit), Bumble from Florida, Candy Cotton from Australia, Coney (Ahumado) home from Baghdad, Snuggles from the Netherlands and Mittens from Florida.

An Irish pig from Russia?

Éireannach is our latest house guest and has been enjoying himself out sledding in the backyard with Watson.

"Today I went sledding in the snow. There was room on the sled for Watson to join me and we took turns pulling each other when there were no hills."

Guests for Thanksgiving

Soar, Ruzovacek and Helen Bear were all here for Thanksgiving Dinner today. Soar, the American Eagle, had filled the others in on what thanksgiving was all about and then warned them about eating too much. His warning went unheeded and the 3 of them dozed off before they even got to taste the pumpkin pie. Helen Bear is visiting from England and Ruzovacek is here from Czechoslovakia. Soar flew in from Missouri.

Welcome to Froddo and Daisy Duck

Coney and Rosa were on hand to welcome the new guests that have just arrived from Iowa. Froddo hopped over from Australia and Daisy Duck is visiting America from Great Britain. Both of these voyagers are traveling the US Toy Voyagers Trail.

It was discovered soon after they arrived that it is the second trip to New Mexico in the past few months. They were recently visiting at Red River.

Holiday Harry grounded in Utah

It was a great trip getting here but Holiday Harry, of Germany, woke up to rain this morning in Vernal. Photos of his journey can be viewed on his travelog.

Postcards and Diarys

It was great to hear from Lucky Ducky who is still enjoying his holiday in Finland. We got the following postcard from him this week.

Ballet Cindy is now ready to travel some more and visit a new host on the USATVT and has updated her journal and started packing.

Rosa is relaxing after almost 2 weeks of traveling to Utah, Colorado and back to New Mexico with Ballet Cindy.

Ballet Cindy has Dancing feet

Cindy has recieved not just a new ballet outfit but also a pair of ballet slippers so her feet have been doing a lot of dancing and she has been having trouble keeping them on the ground.

New Guests arrive

The toys gathered around yesterday to welcome our new arrivals, Ballet Cindy and Holiday Harry. Ballet Cindy belongs to 5 year old Wendy in the Netherlands and is traveling around the world sending home cheer and well wishes to Wendy who is currently in the hospital battling leukemia.

Along with Wourpet and Picado both making it to the top ten lists (Picado is #4 on miles travelled) our guest Henry also made the news.

Henry's idol is Indiana Jones, and he is always looking out for ways to emulate his hero's on-screen antics.

Created by Drakie, Henry is currently being hosted by wourpet in New Mexico. He has also travelled to Colorado to see ghost towns and has enjoyed seeing incredible scenery and getting to do lots of exciting missions. He's even been inside a volcano!

Henrys updated scrapbook

Henry the Adventure Hound is on his way to Missouri and has yet to let us know he arrived. We have an up to date picture of his last scrapbook entry he completed just before leaving. We wish him all the best in his future travels and adventurous missions. His travel log is here.

Budd stays on in Farmington

Budd is still visiting and over the weekend she came down to help out at the booth in the civic center. Afterwards we stopped by the post office since she will likely be departing from there quite soon.

Henry leaves for Missouri

"In the picture are Aunt Flora and the twins Petal and Blossom, Budd, Blanche, Rosa, me, Stinger and a bear whom I don't think I have even met. Oh, and the rather large prickly one is a very big hedge hog. I have enjoyed my visit to Farmington, NM and the road trip into Colorado. Many thanks to my hosts and new friends, I'll keep in touch."

Henry the Pooch explores ghost towns and climbs into volcano

Henry has had an incredibly adventurous week. After viewing the site of the Ludlow Massacre he viewed the ruins of several old ghost towns. He climbed over the rim of the Capulin volcano in New Mexico and descended down into the core at the bottom of the crater. At Cokedale he viewed the old ovens used to process the coal.

Rain temporarily stalls the Adventurers

Rosa, Budd and Henry patiently wait inside the travel trailer for the rain to end so they can get back outside.

Henry had fun exploring old ruins near the site of the Ludlow Massacre in Colorado and an extinct volcano in New Mexico. Budd enjoyed plenty of awesome scenery along the Sangre de Cristo mountains range, tended the campfire and went fishing in Trinidad Lake, while Rosa toured the town of Trinidad, Colorado and did some shopping.
